Tightening oversight of returnees from COVID-19 affected areas needed amid growing outbreak
Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet on Friday afternoon called for continued steps for oversighting of returnees from COVID-19 affected areas amid the growing outbreak in the city.

Mr Triet urged district authorities and relevant agencies to strengthen COVID-19 control measures in wet markets across the city with a focus on ensuring good practice in using market entry cards and increasing checks and monitoring of these venues in order to make sure that market patrons and stall holders are complying with recommended prevention measures to keep themselves and others safe.
Chairman Chinh also called for stricter enforcement of and adherence to existing public health measures across the city in efforts to further limit the spread of the COVID-19 Delta strain.
The city government leader also demanded the health agency to speed up its contact tracing and testing efforts for people with suspected COVID-19 symptoms.
Mr Chinh directed the health officials to enhance surveillance of the primary close contacts who have already completed their mandatory period to make sure they do not pose any risk to the community.
Also on Friday afternoon, Chairman Chinh paid inspection visits to 2 quarantine hotels in Son Tra District and 2 others in Ngu Hanh Son District where Da Nang citizens returning from Ho Chi Minh City are staying in managed isolation.
Mr Chinh asked authorities in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts to enhance surveillance of these quarantine hotels in efforts to reduce the risk of cross infection and keep hotel staff and quarantined people safe and healthy.
