62 new COVID-19 infections reported in Da Nang on Aug.7, including 3 community-acquired ones
Da Nang confirmed 62 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, August 7, of which, 40 cases were in managed isolation, 19 were detected in local lockdown areas and only 3 were spotted in the community, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said.
The 3 community-acquired cases detected on Saturday, were detected from the sampling for COVID-19 testing at high-risk neighbourhoods in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District.
In particular, 58 out of the total 62 cases registered on Saturday were linked to the highly transmissible infection chain at the Son Tra District-based Tho Quang fishing wharf.
Based on the latest number of infections, Son Tra District is still a coronavirus hotspot in Da Nang, recording 41 cases on Saturday, with 17 cases in Nai Hien Dong Ward, 12 in Man Thai Ward, 7 in Tho Quang Ward, 4 in An Hai Bac Ward and 1 in An Hai Dong Ward.
The total infections recorded in the city have climbed to 1,215 since July 10.
