Da Nang is moving in right direction in fight against COVID-19, the city Party Chief says
In his meeting with the Da Nang Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Friday afternoon, municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang said Da Nang is moving in the right direction in the fight against COVID-19.

Secretary Quang said that said cases detected in the community, ring-fencing COVID-19 hotspots and local lockdown areas have decreased and believes the city’s downward trend is real.
“The number of COVID-19 cases across the city has declined significantly over the past three days. Tougher measures to control COVID-19 have been effective in Da Nang and have been shown to help reduce the spread of the virus”, Mr Quang emphasized.
The city Party Chief praised Son Tra, Cam Le and Thanh Khe districts for their great efforts in taking drastic action to yield positive results from fighting the pandemic.
Mr Quang urged officials to not neglect their mission during the fight against the deadly virus, and continue to put forth their best effort to help the city bring the outbreak under control.
Municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet asked the health agency to maximize the use of resources to treat COVID-19 patients, especially those requiring critical care.
Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh highlighted huge efforts the health agency, relevant units and district authorities have made to quickly and effectively conduct investigations into new locally transmitted cases and identify, isolate and test all their contacts in addition to taking proactive steps to set up backup quarantine facilities for future COVID-19 primary close contacts and establish field hospitals for future COVID-19 patients.
Son Tra District People's Committee Chairman Hoang Son Tra said that the district has spent more than 4.8 billion VND on providing financial support for people in local lockdown areas.
The taskforce at checkpoints on Friday issued administrative penalties to 21 people for not wearing a face mask outdoors, leaving home without a reasonable excuse, and using improper travel permits.
“Da Nang on Friday saw fewer people passing through COVID-19 checkpoints compared with the previous days. The taskforce at checkpoints will only accept newly-regulated travel permits of road users from today, August 8, and resolutely handle violators of using improper travel permits," said Colonel Tran Dinh Chung, the Deputy Director of the municipal Police Department.
