Da Nang's daily infections climb to 76 on Aug 1, including 15 founded in community
Da Nang reported 76 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, August 1, of which, 15 were found in the community whilst the remainder have been in managed isolation, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control's latest figure shows.
Of the cases detected in the community, 3 symptomatic cases were detected during their in-person visits to medical establishments for checkups, eight were documented from the so-called ‘one door, one test’ campaign due to the infection chain at Son Tra District- based Tho Quang fishing wharf, three were related to other previous infection chains and the remaining one tested positive for COVID-19 upon completing 14-day mandatory quarantine at a centralised facility.
It is highly concerning that, 59 cases logged on Saturday were linked to the highly transmissible infection chain at the Tho Quang fishing wharf. Meanwhile, 9 linked to the Da Son Slaughterhouse were logged on the same day.
In particular, 34 infections linked to the infection chain at the Tho Quang fishing wharf were registered in Son Tra District alone, with 2 cases in An Hai Bac Ward, 1 in Phuoc My Ward, 16 in Tho Quang Ward, 1 in Man Thai Ward and 14 in Nai Hien Dong Ward.
The total infections recorded in the city have climbed to 764 since July 10 when a local man in Cam Le District’s Hoa Xuan Ward was confirmed contracting the virus after many days of no community transmissions in the city.
