Da Nang police levies VND 7.5 million coronavirus fake news fine for a facebook page admin
Da Nang Police Department Director Vu Xuan Vien has issued an administrative fine of VND 7.5 million to an administrator of the Da Nang Snacks Association's facebook page for uncensored posts on her page, resulting in the dissemination of coronavirus fake news on the social media networking site.
False information on 300 COVID-19 cases which were identified in Da Nang’s industrial parks after further restrictions had been eased posted on the Da Nang Snacks Association’s page from account named ‘H.H’.

The wrong information caused confusion amongst the public, as well as fostered their anxiety and affected the adherence to COVID-19 preventive measures in the city.
Police officers on September 20 invited the administrator of the Da Nang Snacks Association’s page for interview, and issued an administrative fine of VND 7.5 million to her for uncensored posts on her page.
COVID-19 fake news was posted on the Da Nang Snacks Association’s facebook page with nearly 50,000 followers from account named ‘H.H’.
Da Nang police is tracing “‘H.H’ facebook account in order to identify its user to impose strict penalties for the offender.
Officers continue to conduct investigations into violations of Vietnamese laws, and impose strictest penalties on facebook page administrators for uncensored posts on their pages.
