Da Nang recorded only 4 COVID-19 cases on September 24, all of which were found in the city’s designated quarantine facilities, the municipal Steering Board for COVID-19 Prevention and Control announced in its latest bulletin.

The city has, therefore, seen no new community transmission case for 3 consecutive days.

Two out of the aforementioned 4 cases found in managed isolation were related to a coronavirus infected dweller in alley K85 on Han Mac Tu Street, Thuan Phuoc Ward, Hai Chau District. Another one was linked to an COVID contracting worker in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District. The remaining one was the close contact of a resident living on Thuan Phuoc Ward-located Phan Ke Binh Street. All of these three chains of infection have been brought under control till date.

During the same day, 66,403 people had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, of whom 64,753 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to rapid antigen tests whilst entering the city through the city’s gateway checkpoints.

For the time being, there are 14 blockaded zones linked to COVID-19 cases, housing a total of 865 local residents.

Till date, 45 out of the total 56 communes and wards citywide have been labelled as ‘green zones’ where neither community-acquired cases nor locked-down sites have been logged over the past 14 days as follow:

Hoa Vang District: the wards of Hoa Bac, Hoa Khuong, Hoa Tien, Hoa Phu, Hoa Lien, Hoa Nhon, Hoa Phong, Hoa Phuoc, Hoa Ninh and Hoa Chau

Son Tra District: the wards of An Hai Bac, Man Thai, An Hai Tay, Phuoc My, Nai Hien Dong, Tho Quang, and An Hai Dong

Ngu Hanh Son District: the wards of Hoa Quy, Hoa Hai, My An and Khue My

Hai Chau District: the wards of Phuoc Ninh, Nam Duong, Hai Chau 1, Hoa Cuong Nam, Binh Hien, Binh Thuan, Hoa Thuan Dong, Hoa Thuan Tay, Hoa Cuong Bac and Thach Thang

Thanh Khe District: the wards of Hoa Khe, Thanh Khe Dong, Thac Gian, Chinh Gian, Xuan Ha, An Khe, Thanh Khe Tay, Tan Chinh and Vinh Trung

Cam Le District: the wards of Khue Trung, Hoa Tho West, Hoa Phat, Hoa Tho Dong and Hoa Xuan.

No ‘green wards’ have been recognised in Lien Chieu District.

Since July 10, Da Nang’s COVID-19 infection tally has climbed to 4,641.
