Da Nang documents 2 coronavirus cases on Oct.23, both in managed isolation

Da Nang recorded 2 new case of COVID-19 today, October 23, both of which were detected in the city’s designated centralised quarantine facilities. No new community-acquired cases were reported today.

The 2 aforementioned cases in Hoa Thuan Dong and Nam Duong wards, respectively, Hai Chau District, were the close contact of a previously-confirmed patient dwelling at 259 Le Duan, Tan Chinh Ward, Thanh Khe District.

Also on Saturday, a combined total of 5, 481 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, 4, 632 of whom tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

In addition, the local healthcare sector also conducted rapid antigen testing on 774 road users onboard vehicles entering the city through gateway checkpoints.

Today, Da Nang handled 94 returnees from other pandemic-struck localities nationwide, all of whom were put under mandatory quarantine in accordance with the regulations.

Currently, 46 returnees are undergoing mandatory quarantine at the local authorities- designated centralised facilities whilst 896 others are self-quarantining at home.

A combined total of 355 people are now subject to compulsory quarantine in 14 centralised facilities.

The city now has 4 blockaded sites, putting 56 households with a combined total of 198 people under lockdown. Of them, 79 residents belonging to 18 sealed-off families are logged in Hai Chau District, whilst the rest are identified in Thanh Khe District.

Up to now, 1,000,608 out of the already received 1,007,856 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Da Nang residents.

Of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 854,413 have received the first shots of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 146,195 have got a full 2-dose course.

Since July 10 when the current COVID-19 wave started in Da Nang, its caseload tally has stayed at 4,694.
