2 community infections of COVID-19 among 13 new cases in Da Nang on Nov. 15

Da Nang recorded 13 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, November 15, two of which were found in the community, six in local centralised quarantine facilities and the remaining five during at-home quarantine, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said its updated bulletin.

Here is need-to-know information on the two community cases:

One was a residing at K8 Tran Xuan Le, Hoa Khe Ward, Thanh Khe District. He came to the Da Nang-based 199 Hospital under the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 there.

The results of the epidemiological investigation showed that the patient had been previously exposed to an infected colleague working with the same company following the latter’s arrival in Da Nang from Lao Bao in the central province of Quang Tri.

The other was a dweller at K97 Dung Sy Thanh Khe, Thanh Khe Tay Ward, Thanh Khe District.
This person was confirmed to contract the coronavirus via a test conducted at the 199 Hospital following the showcasing of some suspicious symptoms.

The patient was linked to an infection chain discovered on Nai Nghia 7, Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District.

In addition, there were five coronavirus-infected patients found during their at- home quarantine periods, and they were linked to infection clusters at the Lien Chieu District-based An Duc clinic, the streets of Nai Nghia 7 and Nai Thinh 2, Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District.

Also, Monday saw the detection of fix cases found in centralised quarantine facilities, four of which were related to the transmission chains at 103 Nguyen Trung Truc, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District, and one Nai Nghia 7 Street, Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District and at K250 Nguyen Cong Tru, Son Tra District, respectively, and the remaining two were the employees of the Da Nang Lung Hospital found via COVID-19 periodical testing.

Also on Monday, a combined total of 33,277 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, 32,741 of whom tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

There are currently 69 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 702 households with a combined total of 2,854 people under lockdown.

A combined total of 1,166 people are put under compulsory quarantine in 17 centralised facilities.

Up to now, 1,357,613 out of the already received 1,511,206 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Da Nang residents.

Of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 903,604 have received the first shots of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 454, 009 have got the second jabs against the highly contagious disease.

Da Nang has recorded 299 positive COVID-19 cases since October 16.
