COVID-19 vaccination rollout for students in grades 8 and 9 starts in Da Nang
Da Nang on Saturday, November 20 began vaccinating students in grades 8 and 9 against COVID-19 as part of the city’s school-based COVID-19 vaccination program.
A combined total of 34,696 eligible students will be offered a first dose of the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine from November 20 -22 during the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination rollout.

We have observed at all vaccination sites that strictest health measures are being put in place at these venues in efforts to keep health workers and vaccine recipients safe. Police, military personnel, militia, union members and volunteers are guiding people who come to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to queue and keep a safe distance from others and have their body temperature checked while waiting for their turn.
The vaccination is available at 15 vaccination sites across the city.
Eligible students who come to get vaccinated are required to undergo medical checks, and they are provided with medical advice and post-vaccination 30-minute observation.
The health agency has made a good preparation to ensure vaccines can be given to years 8 and 9 students as safely and quickly as possible. All school immunisation teams are all trained to spot and manage allergic reactions and eligible young people will be observed for 30 minutes after vaccination.
