Active members

60-year-old Nguyen Thi Thuy, a member of Chon Tam1B4 chapter of the municipal Women's Union in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, said “Due to the complicated developments of the pandemic, every citizen citywide should act as a ‘frontline soldier’ in the ongoing battle against COVID-19. Despite my old age, my health was still good, so I got involved in staffing at checkpoints set up on locked down areas in my locality".

Head of the Women’s Union chapter of Thach Bo Village in Hoa Tien Commune, Hoa Vang District Nguyen Thi Yen pointed out some difficulties when staffing at checkpoints, including being on duty for around 12 hours per shift, and eating and sleeping right at checkpoints. However, she and other members were still happy at contributing a little effort to the city’s anti-pandemic battle.

Each person has a different situation, but most of the Women's Union members at all levels are busy with family. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic occurred, they enthusiastically joined efforts with the municipal government to prevent the disease from spreading to the community.
