Da Nang's COVID-19 daily tally reaches new high at 125 on Dec.6, including 55 cases of community transmission

Da Nang recorded 55 community infections among the COVID-19 daily tally of 125 on Monday, December 6, the highest number recorded on a single day over recent days, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said.

Amongst the 55 community-acquired patients, there were 26 traders in the Lien Chieu District-based Hoa Khanh Market, one stall holder in the Son Tra District-based An Hai Bac Market, six cases infections found via rapid antigen tests, two employees at the Thuan Phuoc Company and one medical worker at the Lien Chieu District Medical Centre.

The remaining 19 community-acquired patients tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 through tests conducted at some medical facilities citywide following their displaying of some suspicious symptoms.

In detail, four cases were each found at the An Duc Clinic and the Family Hospital, three at the Lien Chieu District Medical Centre, two each at Tam Tri Hospital and the Da Nang-based Hospital 199 under the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, and one each at the Hoan My Hospital, the Maternity - Paediatrics Hospital, Thanh Khe District Health Centre and the Da Nang General Hospital.

Apart from the detection of 55 community infections as above mentioned, the city logged 70 cases found under managed isolation. In detail, there were 20 in centralised quarantine facilities, 38 during at-home quarantine and the remaining 12 in locked-down residential areas

In particular, 101 out of the 125 cases were likely to spread to the community, local experts warned.
Amongst the local districts, Lien Chieu recorded the highest number of COVID-19 infections on Monday with 58, followed by Son Tra with 22 cases, Hoa Vang with 14, Cam Le with 11, and Hai Chau and Thanh Khe with seven each

There are currently 205 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 1,491 households with a combined total of 9,268people under lockdown.

A combined total of 924 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in 18 centralised facilities.Also on the same day, a combined total of 24,955 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, 23,554 of whom tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

Up to now, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 965,954 have received the first shots of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 866,953 have got the second jabs against the highly contagious disease.

Da Nang has recorded 1.697 infections, 148 of which were returnees from other cities and provinces nationwide, since October 16 when the city saw the resurgence of COVID-19 community-based cases.
