Da Nang's daily COVID-19 caseload reaches 104 on Dec.4, including 31 community infections

Da Nang recorded 104 new infections on Saturday, December 4, of which 31 were found in the community, 18 in centralised quarantine facilities, 43 during at-home quarantine and the remaining 12 in locked-down residential areas, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control confirmed.

In detail, amongst the 31 community-acquired patients, there were two residents from the neighbouring province of Quang Nam who had gone to Da Nang Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital for regular medical examination and another two infections found via rapid antigen tests.

The remaining 27 community-acquired patients tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 through tests conducted at some medical facilities citywide following their displaying of some suspicious symptoms. In detail, six cases were found at the Da Nang-based Hospital 199 under the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, five at the Tam Tri Hospital, four at the An Duc Clinic, three each at Lien Chieu District Medical Centre and the Y Duc Medical Clinic, two at the Thien Nhan Clinic, and one each at the Hoa Khanh Clinic, the Health Station of Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District, the Thanh Khe District Medical Centre, the Son Tra District Medical Centre.

In particular, 77 out of the 104 cases were likely to spread to the community.

Amongst the local districts, Lien Chieu recorded the highest number of COVID-19 infections on Saturday with 37, followed by Son Tra with 20 cases, Thanh Khe with 18, Hai Chau with ten, Cam Le with seven, Ngu Hanh Son with five and Hoa Vang with four.

There are currently 204 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 1,581households with a combined total of 9,462 people under lockdown.

A combined total of 1,205 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in 18 centralised facilities.
Also on Saturday, a combined total of 11,565 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, 10,678 of whom tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

Up to now, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 964,963 have received the first shots of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 845,701 have got the second jabs against the highly contagious disease.
Da Nang has recorded 1,494 infections, 137 of which were returnees from other cities and provinces nationwide, since October 16 when the city saw the resurgence of COVID-19 community-based cases.
