886 new coronavirus cases recorded in Da Nang on Jan.28
Da Nang documented 886 coronavirus infections on Friday, January 28, of which 647 were found in the community, four logged at local centralised quarantine establishments and the 235 remaining ones found during at-home quarantine periods.
Of the aforementioned community-acquired cases, 393 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups.
Meanwhile, 165 patients were found to be contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by the staff of ward/commune-levelled medical stations.
The remaining community-based patients comprised 22 employees working at many local production and business establishments, 54 traders at the Tuy Loan, Phu Loc and Le Trach markets, and 13 returnees to Da Nang from other coronavirus-stricken localities nationwide.
Cases with a high risk of further community transmission were recorded at all local districts: 120 in Son Tra, 112 in Hoa Vang, 99 in Lien Chieu, 96 in Thanh Khe, 84 in Cam Le, 75 in Hai Chau and 28 in Ngu Hanh Son.
Also on the same day, a combined total of 11,019 residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken by the local medical staff for COVID-19 testing, of whom 4,865 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 980,979 have received the first jab of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 961,757 have got the second dose, 226,465 have accessed the third shot against the highly contagious disease.
