The Da Nang Steering Board for Natural Disaster Mitigation, Search, Rescue and Civil Defence has sent an official dispatch to relevant local agencies on responding to unexpected natural disasters during the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) 2022.

As forecasted by the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, from January 26 to 27, a low pressure area in the southern waters off the Philippines will move into the eastern area of the East Sea and it is likely to gain more strength to become a tropical depression.

In order to proactively respond to the impacts of any potential tropical depressions and storms in the East Sea during the forthcoming Tet, the Da Nang Steering Board for Natural Disaster Mitigation, Search, Rescue and Civil Defence requested functional bodies to promptly keep the owners of fishing vehicles operating at sea well informed of the expected tracks and developments of  the above-mentioned tropical low pressure area so that they can actively get out of or avoid entering the dangerous waters.

The district-level agencies of Natural Disaster Mitigation, Search, Rescue and Civil Defence shall organise monitoring and stay on duty around the clock so as to promptly handle any unexpected incidents and dangers at sea.
