Meaningful trade union buses bring workers back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet
For the time being, 70 "Trade Union Buses" brought more than 2,050 employees, workers working in industrial zones (IZs) and their family members in the city to their hometown to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Tiger 2022 becomes more meaningful than ever after nearly two tough years due to COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, meaningful "Trade Union buses" start rolling earlier than usual from the 20th till 28th December to transport workers and employees return to their hometowns. The farthest destination of the northern route is Thanh Hoa Province, of the southern route is Khanh Hoa Province, and in the Central Highlands is Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province.
According to survey data of grassroots trade unions, a series of businesses lost duties due to the impact of COVID-19. Moreover, no longer overloaded like before the resurgence of the pandemic; In addition, many workers also want to return to their hometown soon to reunite with their family and relatives during Tet since they have not had the opportunity to visit their hometown for a long time.
Ms Nguyen Thi Hai, Ms Nguyen Hoai Van, workers of Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, together with Ms Vo Thi Anh Truc, worker of Thuan Phong Courier Company, are all overjoyed and excited since they were able to return to their hometown on “Zero-VND” buses. " These free of charge rides are meaningful to workers who are far from home like us after facing a host of hardships in 2021," shared Ms Van.
As shared by Mr Hoang Huu Nghi, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Confederation of Labour, each worker and employee when participating in the "Trade Union Bus" is supported by the Da Nang Labour Union with VND 100,000 /person.
Apart from that, family members accompanying them are also supported with VND 50,000 /person for food expenses on the way home.
The "trade union bus" bringing workers and employees home to celebrate Tet warms the hearts of those living far from home. ‘Zero-VND’ rides, as well as warm gratitude help to reduce pressure on the transportation industry in the days leading up to Tet, contributing to the effective prevention and control of COVID-19 and bringing joy to employees after a year away from home and encountering numerous hardships caused by COVID-19 pandemic.
