A consultation workshop on a set of indicators for the assessment of environmental protection and management at district-level based on community surveys has recently taken place in Da Nang.

The event was jointly organised by the Da Nang Socio-Economic Development Research Institute, the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Center for Environment and Community Research (CECR).

It has been part of the ‘Joining Hands in Protecting Water Resources’ project which is being deployed in Da Nang by the municipal government and CECR. The project is within the framework of the ‘Local Works’ programme funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which contributes to helping the city implement its project 'Building Da Nang into an Environmentally-friendly City' for the 2021 - 2030 period.

During the workshop, participants who were from State management agencies, community organisations, and businesses, and environmental experts, have given useful ideas and suggestions to perfect a set of indicators for the assessment of environmental protection and management at district level.
