Continue to speed up vaccinations against COVID-19, Da Nang administration asks
It is a must-do for Da Nang to be still on track to maintain COVID-19 prevention in tandem with speeding up vaccinations against the virus for local dwellers in the coming time. The instruction was released by Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ngo Thi Kim Yen at a meeting on Thursday held by the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

As assessed by the Da Nang authorities, the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the city has been well controlled as the daily caseload has kept at 200.
Currently, 145 patients are being treated at 21 medical facilities, of whom 13 are severely ill. All wards and communes throughout the city maintain COVID-19 prevention and control measures at level 1: Low-risk (new normal).
However, according to Vice Chairwoman Yen, there is currently a state of neglect and subjectivity in the implementation of pandemic prevention and control measures. Especially, events with large crowds such as weddings, festivals and other service activities, some residents fail to wear masks.
It is, therefore, recommended that relevant local agencies maintain inspection and supervision, as well as continuously remind the general public to comply with the regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.
With regard to vaccinations against COVID-19 for children aged 5 - 11, Vice Chairwoman Yen requested the local health sector to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with other functional bodies to organise vaccinations for the eligible kids, ensuring ensure safety, efficiency and on schedule.
As for the administration of 3rd and 4th doses of COVID-19 vaccines, so far, 80% of the Da Nang population has got 3 doses, whilst the initial-set target must reach at least 90%.
Therefore, it is suggested that district’s authorities focus on directing, managing and mobilising people to receive the 3rd and 4th doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
"On the basis of suggestions and reflections of the local localities, it is recommended that the local health sector take the initiative in developing communication plans, contents and methods, contributing to improving the effectiveness of pandemic prevention and control. It is necessary to organise injection methods in the most favourable way to maximize the needs of the people, especially workers”, emphasized Vice Chairwoman Yen.
