Over the past 3 months, the Central Region branch of the Ha Noi Urban Environment Limited Company – URENCO has deployed the collection and transportation of garbage in Hoa Quy Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang. As observed, most streets here have become clean, beautiful and airy. Besides, some environmental hot spots have also gradually resolved.

People living in residential areas of Hoa Quy Ward have been exhilarated because the landscape and environment in the area have improved far much compared to before.

“Around 9 o'clock every day, tricycles of sanitation workers at the central branch of URENCO go to each alley to collect people's household waste. They work quickly, promptly and responsibly to make the environment much cleaner. I hope this company will continue to implement the current effective collection," said Ms Le Thi Lien, a resident of the residential group No 27.

According to Ms Huynh Thi Tien, the Head of Steering Board of Vietnamese Fatherland Front activities of Khai Tay 2B Residential Area, this area has many narrow alleys, so it is difficult to maintain the cleaning of the environment.

Previously, people had to bring household waste to the gathering spots. However, some people throw it indiscriminately outside, causing unsightly urban beauty and environmental pollution in the area. For the time being, this situation has changed in a positive way since the central Urenco branch deployed the cleaning task here.

In addition, Hoa Quy Ward has also regularly cooperated with the company to organize a cleanup of environmental "hot spots" in the area once a week. So far, the environment here has been improved, showing that the current collection and maintenance of sanitation work effectively, helping the ward become more spacious and civilized.

Since February 2022, the central Urenco branch has collected and classified domestic solid garbage at source and transported domestic garbage in Hoa Quy Ward according to the contract.

In order to maintain effective environmental sanitation, the company developed a plan to collect, transport garbage and sweep streets daily by motor vehicles such as press trucks, and vacuum cleaners. In the past 3 months of implementation, nearly 400 tons of garbage have been collected each month.

As shared by Mr Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Deputy Head of the General Planning Department of the central Urenco branch, the implementation of waste collection, transportation and street sweeping by using specialized motor vehicles has helped improve the quality of street cleaning.

Some areas in the periphery that had not been directly collected before are now being collected, then the unit has gradually received the support of local people.

In addition, the company proposed the People's Committee of Hoa Quy Ward to support propaganda, and disseminate the time frame and method of garbage collection in residential groups. At the same time, people need to put garbage in bins and put it in front of their houses to keep the environment clean.
