Warning to road users after rocks fall on Hoang Sa Street
Authorities in Da Nang's Son Tra District are warning local road users to take extra care when travelling on Hoang Sa Street after a huge rockfall here on Monday morning.
The rockfall occurred on a section of Hoang Sa Street leading to the Bai Bac tourist site, the same location of the previous incident at noon on April 14, 2022.
After receiving a report from locals, the Da Nang Road and Bridge Management JSC quickly mobilised human resources and specialised vehicles to collect fallen rocks on the road to ensure traffic safety for road users.
According to the leaders of some functional units, the phenomenon of rockfalls on the Son Tra Peninsula in the summer season is unusual, and there is a possibility that it will continue to happen.
The municipal Department of Transport has recently informed that, in April 2022, it has sent a document on the phenomenon of rockfalls at some areas at high risk of landslides on Hoang Sa Street.
In an effort to deal with the problem, the Department of Transport has asked the Da Nang Transport Infrastructure Management Centre to coordinate with relevant units to propose a plan to cope with landslides and rolling rocks along Hoang Sa route.
The Da Nang Road and Bridge Management JSC has been urged to regularly check, monitor and promptly cope with landslides and rolling rocks to ensure smooth traffic flows. Importance should be attached to installing additional rockfall and landslide warning signs along Hoang Sa Street.
