Extreme heat lingers in Da Nang for 10 days
Excessive heat warnings are in effect Thursday as highs climb over 37 degree Celsius at isolated places in the parts from Nghe An to Phu Yen, including Da Nang, according to Viet Nam’s National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.
Daytime temperatures expected for today in these areas will hover around 35-36 degree Celsius. Temperatures are expected to exceed 35 degrees Celsius between 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Lowest humidity is likely to record at 55-65 per cent.
Sweltering heat and humidity will linger over Central Viet Nam for several more days.
Da Nang will continue to see extreme heat until June 25 with temperatures expected to touch 37 degree Celsius on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
On Thursday, severe heatwave condition is likely to prevail over the parts from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue while showers and thuderstorms are predicted at isolated places during the late afternoon and night hours. Maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to hover around 33-36 degrees Celsius while minimum temperature will be in the range of 25-28 degrees Celsius.
Sunshine is forecast today for the parts from Da Nang to Binh Thuan with the chance of showers and thunderstorms during late afternoon and night hours at isolated places. Temperatures in these areas can expect lows of 25 to 28 degrees Celsius and highs of 34 to 36 degrees Celsius, even above 36 degrees Celsius in some places.
Today, the best chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms will likely at isolated locations in Central Highlands during late afternoon and evening hours. Maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 29-32 degrees Celsius, even above 32 degrees Celsius in some places, and 20-23 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Thunderstorms can produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds in the warning areas.
