The Community Disaster Prevention Fund, the Thien Tam Fund, and the Da Nang-based Water Resources Development and Consulting Company (WATEC), on Friday, held a ceremony in Thua Thien Hue Province to hand over 151 automatic rain gauge stations to 13 provinces and cities nationwide.

The handover was within the framework of the Thien Tam Fund-funded project on mobilising and installing automatic rain gauge stations in service of flood early warnings in provinces and cities in the North and Central Viet Nam, and Central Highlands in 2022.

The installation work started in early June 2022, and already completed on August 10, 2022.

The aforementioned rain gauge stations have been installed and put into operation in 13 provinces and cities nationwide, namely Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa (Truong Sa), Dak Lak, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, and Son La.

In Da Nang, 10 automatic rain gauge stations have been installed in Khe Can Area in Thanh Khe District, on the upstream of the Dong Nghe and Hoa Trung lakes, in Hoa Xuan and Hoa Phat wards in Cam Le District, Hoa Quy Ward in Ngu Hanh Son District, Tho Quang Ward in Son Tra District, communes of Hoa Son, Hoa Ninh and Hoa Khuong in Hoa Vang District, and at the Linh Ung Pagoda.
