Da Nang has risen to fame as a safe and friendly tourist destination in Viet Nam over the past time. That good image has been mainly attributed to great efforts made by many branches, sectors, forces and people of the city, including police force.

According to the municipal Police Department, in the first half of 2022, the number of crimes related to social order fell by 1.5 against last year to reach 197, down by 8.4% compared to the same period in 2019, the time before COVID-19.

Besides, the rate of investigation of crime cases reached 88.3%, and there was a significant decrease in the number of crime cases and their severity.

There were no mafia-type organised criminal gangs, and criminals using ‘deadly weapons’. 100% of serious and especially serious cases that attracted public attention were investigated and crack downed quickly.

During the 6-month period, police in the city successfully solved 9 drug-related cases, seized more than 13kg of drugs of all kinds. Moreover, they uncovered and successfully investigated cases relating to corruption, smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit products, as well as made every effort to ensure social security and traffic safety.

In addition to increasing patrols, the city police have brought into full play the synergy of the political system, and closely coordinated with relevant agencies and mass organisations to widely launch the ‘All People Protecting National Security’ campaign.

Since the start of the year, police units and localities have implemented many good ‘All People Protecting National Security’ models, and new ways of doing things, in an effort to create an atmosphere of exciting emulation among police officers and men.

Particularly, the city’s ‘Grassroots police work overtime to serve local residents’ model has been highly appreciated by the Ministry of Public Security and expanded into 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

In addition, the ‘self-management, self-defense, self-protection, self-reconciliation’ models at grassroots level have brought practical results.
