The two-day event is expected to attract more than 2,000 guests who are leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment along with national agencies, plus representatives from international organisations, partners, departments, divisions, branches, units, and enterprises.

The exhibition will feature 35 booths covering an area of more than 1,000m2 that will display models of domestic solid waste treatment areas, garbage transfer stations, septic tank sludge treatment solutions, modern urban waste collection, transportation and treatment equipment, and technologies and microbiological products of many domestic and foreign enterprises.

Other activities will be held on the sideline of the event, including an exhibition of children’s paintings on environmental issues, recycling waste collection, a gift giving festival, a supply and demand connection event, a ceremony to give investment licences to enterprises, and a visit to the garbage transfer station on Le Thanh Nghi Street.

Architect To Van Hung, the Director of the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment said that the upcoming international conference and exhibition will provide a great opportunity for agencies, associations, organisations, businesses, and domestic and foreign investors to exchange information, and share advanced technologies in waste treatment. Also, it will contribute to encouraging enterprises to promote the transfer of new, advanced and modern solid waste treatment technologies, and waste recycling technology, that are suitable for Vietnamese cities in general and Da Nang in particular in the coming time.

The event will also give Da Nang a chance to solve its problems posed to solid waste management, especially waste treatment technology, in a bid to promote the circular economy and realise its goal of bringing net greenhouse gas emissions to "zero" by 2050.
