A training course on improving knowledge and professional skills in preventing violence against women and children in public transport systems was held by the Da Nang Women's Union in the city on August 23 and 24.

The two-day event was one of a series of activities jointly organised by the municipal Women's Union and the Department of Transport, aiming to carry out the project on building Da Nang into a safe city free of violence against women and girls during the 2021-2025 period with a vision to 2035.

The event provided the opportunity for the participants who were public transport drivers to learn about gender-based violence, violence against women and children, skills to recognize forms of sexual harassment on public transport, support services, and models of prevention and response to sexual harassment on public transport. This significantly contributed to preventing, stopping and minimising the unfortunate consequences of violence against women and children on public transport.
