In all of the assigned responsibilities and tasks, Major Kieu Duy Tien has always upheld the sense of responsibility in mastering and implementing the given work, actively grasping the situation of the area, having close relations with the Party committees and local authorities, and well implementing the coordination programs. He has also advised the Party Committee and the Commanding Committee of the unit to perform social security duties well.
Notably, he has paid visits and presented gifts to 5 humanitarian addresses in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward; awarded 55 gifts worth nearly VND50 million, 550 kg of rice and 10 bicycles to students, who were supported in the model of "Adopting children of border guard stations" and the program "Step up children to school" in Lien Chieu District; coordinated the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Nam Ward and the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Bac Ward to support wages for house repair for poor households.
Also, Major Kieu Duy Tien has continuously mobilized local people to well implement the Party's guidelines, State policies and laws, in tandem with actively participating in the fight against crimes, and preserving social security.
Accordingly, Mr Nguyen Van Thu's household in Hoa Hiep Nam ward is one of three extreme poor households that have been helped to dismantle and transport raw materials for home repair. “I am overjoyed with the local support of VND20 million to repair the house. I also feel touched due to the assistance of the border guards in re-roof my shelter. Currently, I no longer worry about my house leaking when it comes to the stormy season,” shared Mr Thu.
In addition, Major Kieu Duy Tien and his teammates have also organized medical examinations and treatment for citizens at the combined military and civil medicine station and community house for disaster prevention in Kim Lien marine cultural residential area, Hoa Hiep Bac Ward on Monday, Wednesday and Friday on a weekly basis.
As shared by Ms Nguyen Thi Nhi, a resident of the area, the soldiers here were absolutely enthusiastic and considerate when it comes to consulting and providing remedies. Thanks to regular visits to the doctor, her chronic diseases of the elderly or common colds were all reduced.
Notably, in 2021, his team effectively implemented the "Portable Border Speakers" model to propagate and mobilize people to strictly observe pandemic prevention and control measures according to the instructions of the locality and the health sector during the peak period of the COVID-19 pandemic. That was the creativity in combining mobile propaganda with portable speakers and distributing information leaflets to people in the coastal border areas.
On top of that, his team also deployed to hundreds of households to sign a commitment to comply with regulations on pandemic prevention and control, detect and report to the authorities about strangers appearing in the area, cases of evasion, failure to declare or failure to comply with regulations on the pandemic prevention and control.
Thanks to his contributions to mass mobilization, building and protecting national sovereignty and border security, Major Kieu Duy Tien was awarded numerous certificates of merit. However, for him, the most precious gift has being still trusted by the people and doing meaningful activities for the sake of the community.
