Da Nang braces for possible days of rain and thunderstorm this week
Scattered showers with thunderstorms at most places with heavy rainfall at isolated places are likely over Northern and North Central Coast from Wednesday into Saturday under the influence of the possible formation of easterly wave disturbances, according to Viet Nam’s National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF).
From Monday into Thursday, best chance for showers with scattered thunderstorms will be likely at most places across the parts from Da Nang to Binh Thuan, Central Highlands and the Southern region while heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places during the afternoon and evening hours. The national forecasters have warned that there will be showers with the possibility of thunderstorms at isolated localtions over these areas during the afternoon and evening hours from Friday into Sunday.
Thunderstorms can produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds, national forecasters has warned.
In Da Nang, mostly cloudy skies are expected on Wednesday and Thursday with rain showers and thunderstorms in the forecast. Maximum temperatures in Da Nang could reach 30 degrees Celsius.
