Diligently keeping beaches, streets clean on National Day holiday

As on normal days, more than 1,500 environmental sanitation workers in Da Nang are on duty to keep beaches and streets clean to serve people and tourists during the ongoing 4-day National Day holiday.

At around 3:00a.m on Friday, workers of the Sea and River Environment Cleanups Enterprise under the Da Nang Urban Environment JSC started collecting garbage and sharp objects left along tourist beaches. As on normal days, environmental sanitation workers in Da Nang still are on duty to keep beaches and streets clean to serve people and tourists during the ongoing 4-day National Day holiday.
Workers of the Sea and River Environment Cleanups Enterprise under the Da Nang Urban Environment JSC started their work shift at around 3:00 a.m. with the task of collecting garbage and sharp objects left along tourist beaches. 

At around 3:00a.m on Friday, workers of the Sea and River Environment Cleanups Enterprise under the Da Nang Urban Environment JSC started collecting garbage and sharp objects left along tourist beaches, at the Bien Dong (East Sea) Park, sidewalks of Vo Nguyen Giap and Hoang Sa streets.

“Because the volume of waste generated during the public holiday increases as compared to the normal workers must start work earlier and finish later. A total of 225 workers and garbage trucks’ drivers finished the tough working day at around 3 :00 a.m. on Friday. In the early morning of the same day, other groups of sanitation workers embarked upon the cleanups of main urban streets”, said Ho Trong Khanh, the Director of Hai Chau Environmental Enterprise under the Da Nang Urban Environment JSC.

At 4:00 a.m on Friday, more than 1,000 workers from other factories belonging to the Da Nang Urban Environment JSC and the Da Nang-base Central Viet Nam branch of the Ha Noi Urban Environment Company Limited (Urenco 15) also started collecting garbage on streets and public places across local districts.

Deputy General Director of the Da Nang Urban Environment JSC Hoang Thi Ngoc Hieu said: "The National Day holiday is an important time when many tourists come to the city for travel, so it is necessary to do street cleanups in a bid to ensure a clean and beautiful landscape and urban environment in the city during this special occasion”.
