On the first day of September, the Thanh Khe District-based Care Center for Victims of Agent Orange and Children in Special Circumstances was filled with laughter. Lanterns of all shapes and colours were decorated every corner of the centre.

Mr. Ha Luu Danh, who is in charge of the Tu Tam Charity Club, said, every year, we organise the Mid-Autumn Festival programmes for disadvantaged children and children with disabilities, aiming to give strengths and motivate children to overcome difficulties in life. All operating costs of the club are contributed by generous donors.

“For many years, the centre has cooperated with many voluntary organisations to organise programmes during public holidays and Tet Festival for children with the desire to create a useful playground for them to experience and express themselves” said Mr. Bui Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Center.

In recent days, the Village of Hope also based in Thanh Khe District has been full of bustling and warm atmosphere. Many unions, organisations, sponsors, and benefactors have visited the children of the village and presented Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to them.

“I feel very happy and grateful to receive special care and attention from generous aunts and uncles. This is a great source of enormous encouragement for me”, said Huynh Thi Thuy Tram who is living in the Village of Hope.
