During his inspection visits to some irrigation works in Hoa Vang District, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son requested the city-based Irrigation Exploitation One Member Co., Ltd. to regularly check and closely monitor the changes of water levels at reservoirs and dams to promptly handle incidents and take proactive measures to mitigate floods and storms, thereby ensuring the safety of the irrigation works.

Heed will be on proactively deploying and effectively handling the situation of rubbish stuck in the An Trach Weir to ensure flood drainage and dam safety when floods occur.

Vice Chairman Son also asked the municipal Management Board of Construction and Investment Projects for Agriculture and Rural Development Works and the city’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to soon send a document to the municipal authorities about the selection of unit that will inspect and evaluate the safety of the An Trach and Ha Thanh weirs.

He also urged the units to speed up the preparation for the project on repairing and upgrading the An Trach - Ha Thanh weirs to increase exploitation capacity and ensure their safety.

As for the Dong Nghe and Hoa Trung reservoirs, Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son assigned the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to inspect and evaluate the safety of the reservoirs and assess the level of reserving mud and sand in order to propose the dredging if necessary to increase their capacity.

The Department of Construction was asked to clearly define the scope and boundaries of the Hoa Trung Lake and based on the regulations and instructions of the Central Government to determine the management functions of the relevant units.

The Da Nang Irrigation Exploitation One Member Limited Liability Company was urged to actively develop a pilot project to exploit services and tourism within the scope, boundaries and protection corridors of Dong Nghe Lake.
