Efforts to put garbage transfer stations in Da Nang into operation soon
The Da Nang People's Committee has just asked relevant agencies and localities to implement municipal People’s Council-issued Official Letter No. 198/HDND-DT dated September 9, 2022 regarding the waste collection and treatment in the city and the management and operation of the Khanh Son landfill.

Accordingly, the district-level authorities will coordinate with the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment to inspect and supervise the collection of domestic waste in residential areas in order to avoid garbage stockpiling and improper collection of garbage. The focus will be on organising training courses on improving the sense of responsibility of sanitation workers in residential areas and on streets.
In addition, disciplinary measures will be taken to handle environmental sanitation units for their ineffective operation.
The local Department of Natural Resources and Environment will work with the Department of Finance, the district-level authorities and related units to soon review waste collection and transportation services in accordance with the actual situation, and at the same time, make plans to improve the quality of waste collection and treatment in the city.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment will be responsible for cooperating with the Da Nang Management Board for Infrastructure Construction and Urban Development Investment Projects to complete necessary procedures to put garbage transfer stations on Le Thanh Nghi Street and in Son Tra District, and trash area No. 6 of the Khanh Son landfill into operation soon.
The municipal People's Committee assigns the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District and the city’s Urban Environment JSC to ensure security and order at the Khanh Son landfill in the coming time.
The municipal Department of Planning and Investment shall coordinate with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and relevant agencies to urgently invest into two waste treatment plants with a capacity of 1,000 tonnes/day and 650 tonnes/day according to regulations.
