From Wednesday night to Thursday morning, flood waters on the Yen River peaked and receded slowly, continuing to flow into the tributary upstream of the An Trach Dam, thereby flooding many roads and residential areas in Hoa Tien Commune, Hoa Vang District.

On Thursday morning, when flood waters on the Yen River lowered, a lot of garbage, tree branches, and others got stuck at the upstream of the An Trach Dam. Workers and motor vehicles from the Da Nang Irrigation Exploitation One Member Limited Liability Company were mobilised to pick up and clear the dam.

Due to the influence of typhoon Noru, heavy rain occurred in the upstream of the Vu Gia River, which not only caused floods in the downstream (mainly from Thanh and Vu Gia river basins), but also made water levels in hydroelectric reservoirs rise quickly.

By 1:00pm on Thursday, the water level of the A Vuong hydropower reservoir was recorded at 378.1m, only 1.9m lower than the normal water level; the Song Bung 4 hydropower reservoir at 222.3m, 0.2m lower than normal water level rise; and the Dak Mi 4 hydropower reservoir is 257.4m, 0.6m lower than normal water level.

Currently, the water level in the hydropower reservoirs is almost full and the water flow is high, so the Dak Mi 4 hydropower plant has discharged water through the spillway to the Vu Gia River.

Meanwhile, the Song Bung Hydropower Company has announced to discharge water from the Song Bung 4 hydropower reservoir to the Vu Gia River to cut and reduce flood for downstream and ensure safety for the reservoir.
