Mid-Autumn Festival gifts presented to around 1,000 Korean guests
The Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT) in collaboration with the municipal Department of Tourism to organise the ‘Happy Mid-Autumn Festival’ programme at the international passenger terminal, Da Nang International Airport, on Thursday evening.
The event aimed to mark the 30th anniversary of the Viet Nam-South Korea diplomatic ties and help disadvantaged children in the city celebrate a happy and warm festival.

The programme was attended by representatives from the Consulate General of South Korea in Da Nang, the municipal Department of Tourism, the Da Nang International Airport, children being cared for at the city’s Care Centre for Street Children, and hundreds of international passengers doing exit procedures at the airport.
During the programme, the participants enjoyed special and attractive activities bearing bold traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival such as lion dance performances, the procession of Korean and Vietnamese lanterns, and traditional Mid-Autumn specialities.
On the occasion, AHT gave gifts to 20 children being cared for at the Care Center for Street Children and sent 1,000 gifts of lanterns and thank-you letters to South Korean tourists doing exit procedures at the airport.
Mr. Ho The Anh, General Director of AHT, hoped that this programme aimed to bring a happy and warm Mid-Autumn Festival to disadvantaged children in the city.
Mr. Park Min, 31, remarked this was the second time he had come to Viet Nam but the first time in Da Nang. He experienced a 4 day/3 night trip in the coastal city.
One of the reasons he decided to travel to Da Nang is that the coastal city is a famous and widely promoted city in South Korea. He said he will return to Da Nang if he has the chance in the near future.

According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong, Da Nang is now focusing on restoring key international tourist markets that have had open-door policies such as South Korea and Japan, and promoting ASEAN and India markets.
In which, South Korea is one of the city’s key international tourist markets with the most positive signs of recovery and growth with the number of flights about 80 flights/week.
Many international tourists, especially famous South Korean stars, have chosen Da Nang as their ideal destination thanks to the city’s great efforts in perfecting tourism products, enhancing service quality, and ensuring safe and secure tourism environment. This shows a positive signal and high hope for the city to promote the development of the South Korean and key international tourist markets in the coming time.
* On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, on Thursday afternoon, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen visited and gave gifts to children at the city’s Centre for Inclusive Education Development Support based in Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District.
Vice Chairwoman Yen wished the centre’s children a happy and warm Mid-Autumn Festival, and encouraged them to continue to study hard and become useful citizens in society.
She also acknowledged and appreciated staff and teachers at the centre in the past time for dedicatedly caring for and teaching the children there. She hoped that the centre's staff will continue to overcome difficulties and make efforts to care for children with difficult circumstances and disabilities.
On behalf of the city's leaders, Mrs. Yen presented Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to the staff and children of the Centre. On the occasion, the Activity International organisation also handed over the centre an artificial turf field, worth VND38 million.
