No road traffic accidents recorded in Da Nang over National Day holiday

According to the Traffic Police Division of Da Nang Police Department, no road traffic accidents and and no illegal motorbike street racing cases were reported in the city during the 4-day National Day holiday break from September 1 - 4.

During the period, the Traffic Police Division deployed 241 patrol and control teams with 842 turns of traffic police officers. Local traffic police officers detected and made 731 records of administrative violation to those failed the city’s traffic rules with 199 cars and 532 motorcycles involved.

As a result, a combined total of more than VND475 million in fines, which was imposed on 284 violation cases, went to the city's branch of the Viet Nam State Treasury. Five cars and 148 motorbikes were temporarily seized, whilst 95 drivers had their driving licences revoked.

In which, there were 106 cases of alcohol violation with 4 cars, 1 truck and 101 motorbikes involved,; 44 cases of speeding violations with 33 cars, 3 trucks, 1 tourist coach and 4 motorbikes involved; and 14 cases of violations on expanding into illegal crates, and carrying oversized and overloaded goods.

In addition, the Traffic Police Division coordinated with the relevant forces to increase patrols and handle violations on the Hai Van Pass. Specifically, they detected and handled more than 17 cases of traffic violations, and reminded more than 90 vehicles of turning back as these vehicles were not eligible to travel up the pass.

In addition, the Traffic Police Station at the Hoa Hiep Gate called for business households on the Hai Van Pass not to illegally encroach on roadside to provide stop areas for guests, and to strictly abide by the Road Traffic Law.
