Thus far, although 3 months have passed, Mr Phan Thanh Phu, a member of the Youth Union of Nam O 2/1 Branch, Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, still cannot forget the moment of saving a pupil, who went to the beach with 5 other students, struggling in the middle of the fierce water at Nam O beach.
With his brave action, the Central Youth Union decided to award the Brave Youth badge to Mr Phan Thanh Phu. With the spirit of courage and responsibility, Phu and many other local young people have contributed to a beautiful image in the hearts of people and tourists.
In the gratitude movements, the city's youngsters have left their mark through meaningful volunteer activities, notably the effective implementation of the model "Mom, we are always with you" since July 2021. So far, 98 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers have been cared for by the grassroots Youth Union units.
Moreover, every 2 months, they have paid visits, cleaned the house, offered incense and fruits on the martyr's altar, cook and eat together with Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. This is a meaningful activity, demonstrating the principle of “Gratitude is the sign of noble souls” of the city's young generation.
According to Mr Nguyen Dinh Thinh, Deputy Head of the Youth Union Movement Committee, Da Nang young adults have regularly cleaned and protected the marine environment and residential areas. In addition, they embellished the landscape at 27 local cemeteries, martyrs’ cemeteries and memorials, and organized propaganda activities to remind people to raise their awareness of environmental protection and water source protection.

In particular, Youth Union members have often removed ads and classifieds that are not in accordance with regulations, contributing to protecting the urban landscape. At the same time, the Union units have also installed free classified billboards and propagated to mobilize people to paste classified ads in the proper places.
Since 2016, 60 children's playgrounds made from recycled materials or with little money deployed by union members and young people have brought meaningful green spaces. These are useful playgrounds since not only do they limit children from too much exposure to electronic devices, but they also help them develop comprehensively physically and mentally.
In particular, young people have made 21 roads having murals in the past 5 years. As shared by Secretary of Hai Chau District Doan Nguyen Thanh Phong, murals on roads wall have a very practical meaning to contribute to creating a clean and beautiful urban landscape, and at the same time raising people's awareness of environmental protection. The activity is also an opportunity for union members and young people to show their talent for drawing, and their spirit of volunteering for the sake of people.

According to Ms Nguyen Thi Anh Thao, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union is always proud to be the origin of various great revolutionary action movements that have the power to spread and encourage young people to be proactive and volunteer to participate in the construction and development of the city.
“In the upcoming time, the Youth Union will continue to thoroughly understand, implement and concretize programs and plans of the Youth Union and Party Committees at all levels. In addition, the unit will renew movements stemming from the realities, demands, aspirations and development trends of union members and the youth. In particular, new factors, good models and examples of people and deeds will continue to be promoted and replicated with the determination to join hands in building and developing an increasingly civilized and beautiful city," shared Ms Nguyen Thi Anh Thao
