After 10 months of construction, the construction of the main items of the garbage transfer station project in Da Nang’s Son Tra District has been basically completed. Included are the garbage treatment block, administrative block, warehouses, the installation of equipment, and the development of technical infrastructure.

Currently, the SEEN Engineering JSC and the Saigon Transportation Mechanical One Member Company Limited (SAMCO), the developers of the project, are on course to paint the floors, install traffic signs and safety railings, take care of green trees and re-pave the sidewalks of Nai Thinh 11 street.

Meanwhile, the Da Nang Management Board for Infrastructure Construction and Urban Development Investment Projects has submited the as-built documents and related procedures to the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment to seek an environmental permit in order to soon put the project into operation.

On the other hand, SEEN has won the bid to operate the Son Tra Waste Treatment Station in the first year.

During his inspection visit to the Son Tra garbage transfer station on Friday, Vice Chairman of Son Tra District People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Viet remarked the maximum garbage compaction capacity of the Son Tra garbage transfer station is 200 tonnes per day, which is suitable for the total volume of waste generated on in the district now and in the near future.

He urged the Management Board to plant more trees within the quarantine and sanitation area in the station.

Deputy Heads of the Urban Committee of the City People's Council Dinh Vui highly appreciated the project’s contractors for their great efforts in meeting the requirements on schedule and quality of the project.

Mr. Vui asked the project’s operating unit to review and proactively prepare relevant procedures and documents early to submit them to the competent authorities for appraisal and operation licence.

The Urban Committee of the City People's Council will continue to monitor the operation of the station, contributing to ensuring traffic order and safety and environmental sanitation.
