Rains continue to lash Da Nang until Wednesday
According to the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, widespread light to moderate rains and isolated heavy and very heavy rainfall will continue to lash over the parts from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai, including Da Nang, until Wednesday, November 24.
The total rainfall amount will be 30mm-70mm in common in these areas while more than 100mm of rain could fall in some places. Thue Thien – Hue and Da Nang could receive between 50mm and 100mm of rain, with more than 150mm possible in some places.
Rainfall warnings have also been issued for a widespread soaking rain that could dump as much as 70mm-150mm of rain in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces, and even 200mm in some places.
As per the regional weather service, widespread rainfall at most places with moderate to heavy rains at isolated places are likely over the parts from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai, including Da Nang, on Wednesday, November 23. As much as 10mm-30mm of rain could fall over these areas, and even more than 40mm at isolated locations.
Thunderstorms can produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds in the warning areas. Forecasters have also issued warnings of flash floods and landslides for mountainous areas in the affected parts, and localized flooding alerts are in place in low-lying and riverside areas.
