Accordingly, based on their certain functions and tasks, all agencies must continue to thoroughly grasp and organise the strict and effective implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures with priority given to avoid ‘overlapping epidemic’ increases as influenza immunity decreases. It is absolutely not be negligent, subjective, as well as to raise vigilance, strengthen the surveillance system and enhance treatment capacity.

Previously, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control had urged ministries and localities nationwide to continue focusing on disease control in the new situation. The Vietnamese Ministry of Health continues to speed up vaccination drives in drastic manner with specifically guidance in localities, ensure adequate and timely supply and allocation of vaccines according to local needs and have a specific plan, strictly follow the directions of the national government, the Prime Minister and the National Steering Committee on vaccine purchase.

Focus is on completely solving the shortage of drugs, supplies and medical equipment in the prevention and control of any COVID-19 outbreaks. Press agencies and media outlets must provide timely, accurate and objective information on the pandemic situation and results of pandemic prevention and control, the situation of socio-economic recovery and development.

The health sector shall continue to develop and complete Covid-19 prevention and control plans in line with the epidemic situation, the assessment of herd immunity in January 2023 and strengthen the implementation of prevention and control of other endemic and emerging diseases such as dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease and ‘mpox’.
