Distressed fishing ship towed to land after engine breakdown
The High Command of Navy Region 3 in Da Nang announced on Friday that naval ship 306 already towed a fishing boat in distress at sea to the Da Nang Port and handđe over it to local authorities.

At 6:30 pm on December 29, fishing vessel QB 98243, captained by Nguyen Luan residing in Quang Phuc Ward, Ba Don Town, Quang Binh Province, with 7 crew members onboard, suffered an engine breakdown whilst conducting fishing about 60 nautical miles from the Con Co Island, Quang Tri Province.
However, the boat’s crew members were unable to solve the problem, and their boat was adrift in the sea at latitude 17°11'N and longitude 108°24'E in the bad weather conditions with strong winds at levels 5-6, and gustiness of level 7.
After receiving information from the Command of the Navy, the Navy Region 3 High Command quickly sent navy ship 306 to research and rescue the fishing vessel in distress.
At 9:00pm on the same day, naval ship 306 reached the fishing boat in distress and started to tow it to the mainland.
The health of the crew members on board the ship is now stable. The fishing boat in distress was successfully towed to the Da Nang Port this late afternoon.
