Visiting pagodas at the beginning of the lunar new year is not merely an activity associated with Buddhism, but it has become an age-old cultural tradition, and an indispensable part in Vietnamese people’s spiritual life.

As noted, from the early morning of the first day of the lunar new year, crowds of people were seen going to temples and pagodas to pray for good luck for their families in the year ahead.

In the early spring atmosphere, everyone sincerely prays and wishes for a peaceful and lucky new year.

At the Linh Ung Pagoda in Son Tra District, right from the entrance, local residents and visitors were instructed to travel in an effort to limit congestion due to the large number of pagoda-goers at the beginning of the new year.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Linh, a resident of Man Thai Ward, said that his family went to local pagoda on the first day of the lunar new year to pray for peace. In the Year of the Cat 2023, he wished that his family would be warm and happy, and he would get job promotion.

Meanwhile, such entertainment venues such as Bach Dang flower street and the Helio Center were crowded with visitors. These places are decorated with colorful flowers and many eye-catching miniatures and mascots imbued with Tet atmosphere.

Ms. Tran Thi Anh Nguyet, a resident of Hai Chau District, said she felt very exciting with beautifully decorated flower streets with many check-in points.
