According to the Management Board, after nearly 3 years of construction, the installation of a sewer line for wastewater collection and rainwater drainage with diameters of 1.8m and 2.2m and a total length of 3,363m along Hoang Sa and Vo Nguyen Giap streets have been completed by underground drilling method.
The construction of a pumping station combined with rainwater with a capacity of 9.85m3/s and wastewater with 1,157m3/s in the Son Tra Wastewater Treatment Station has been already completed.
The basic building of the Son Tra Wastewater Treatment Station at the second phase, plus the installation of equipment at the station, have been done.
Currently, the construction unit is completing the procedures to apply for an environmental permit for trial operation in accordance with regulations.
The installation of all 55 burning culverts and split wells of the 625m-long box sewer line from the rainwater pumping station to the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf has been made.
For the sewer line for wastewater transmission and stormwater drainage with a diameter of 2.4m and a length of 1,964m from Hoang Sa and Vo Nguyen Giap streets to Son Tra wastewater treatment station, 8 sections of underground drilled culverts with a total length of more than 1,410m have been installed.
The remaining 3 culvert sections with a total length of about 550m are about to be constructed. Two of them will be constructed during Tet. It is expected to complete the underground culvert jacking on April 20, 2023.
According to the Management Board, up to now, more than 78% of the construction work of the water environment improvement project in the east of Son Tra District has been completed.
Due to the influence of unfavourable weather conditions and unexpected rains and storms in 2022, along with a number of other difficulties and obstacles, the sewer line for transporting wastewater and draining rainwater which has a diameter of 2.4m and a length of 1,964m, from Hoang Sa and Vo Nguyen Giap streets to the Son Tra Wastewater Treatment Station was behind the schedule.
The municipal Department of Planning and Investment has recently sent a written request to the People's Committee to consider extending the implementation time of the entire project to August 30, 2023.
Therefore, in their efforts to ensure the project continues to progress, contractors deploy machines, equipment, engineers and workers to implement the project during Tet.
From the 1st to the 3rd day of Tet, the construction of culverts by underground jacking method is carried out in the daytime, whilst other construction items are implemented in nighttime to ensure progress. |
Engineers and workers on the ground always pay close attention to those who are working in the 18m deep hole to ensure safety. |
This is the 3rd Tet that many engineers and workers have been worked throughout Tet. |
The inside of the construction site is always leveled and cleaned to ensure the environmental sanitation and labor safety. |
The 18m deep jacking and receiving pits awaiting completion are surrounded by two layers of sturdy fences and mounted with warning signs to avoid accidents for pedestrians. |
The underground jacking of culverts is expected to be completed on April 20, 2023 |
