Among hundreds of new young recruits in Lien Chieu District was Dau Thi Nhung, a resident of Hoa Minh Ward. She is the only female to join the police force for required terms this year’s enlistment session.
Just having graduated from Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy, Nhung could easily find a suitable job, but instead, wants to enlist in the armed force.
Since childhood, Nhung dreamed of becoming a soldier of the Viet Nam People's Public Security, but it has not been realized yet. Therefore, when Nhung heard that there was recruitment for female candidates, she applied immediately for the post and was fortunate to have been accepted.
“Joining the police service will definitely go through a lot of hard work. But I think if you put in the effort and determination, you can do it. I am very proud to join the army with the youth of the whole country and perform sacred tasks for the sake of the Fatherland, Nhung expressed.
Similarly, in the list of recruits in Thanh Khe District this year, many people can't help but be surprised with female student Ngo Thi Quynh Trang from Tam Thuan Ward.
Trang is a final year student at the University of Foreign Languages and Studies, a member school of the University of Da Nang but has written an application for joining the army.
And she couldn't have been happier when she got the go-ahead to join the army.
Loving the colour of a soldier's uniform, in her free time, Trang goes online to learn about life in the army. She wished that two years in the army would be an opportunity for herself to overcome challenges and become more mature.
“Learning about the military, I know that it is a highly disciplined and organised environment. I know it will be difficult, but I will try and be strongly determined to complete my mission”, said Trang.
Not only young women volunteered to join the army this year, there were twin brothers Nguyen Thang Long and Nguyen Phi Long, 23, living in My An Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District.
Born into a family with a revolutionary tradition, Thang Long and Phi Long wished to contribute to the construction of their homeland and the whole country at large.
Having graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration at the Da Nang-located Duy Tan University, the duo temporarily put aside their university degrees and wrote volunteer applications to join police services.
“Since I was a child, I have loved the tasks fulfilled by the police force. With words of great encouragement from our parents and relatives, we are very excited to join the army. Once entering the police environment, there will be difficulties and hardships, but we will do our best to complete all assigned tasks”, rookie Nguyen Thang Long confided.
