The Da Nang Department of Planning and Investment has warned local businesses of false news about replacing information related to old identification (ID) cards with those related to new chip-based Citizen ID cards on business registration certificate.
The warning for local businesses comes as the Department’s Business Registration Division recently received reports from a number of businesses about this false news as well as spotted this spreading misinformation on the internet. This provides inaccurate and misleading information about compulsory updates of chip-based Citizen ID cards of the legal representative on the Certificate of Business Registration not later than March 31, 2023 and a fine of VND 3,000,000 to VND 30,000,000 will be imposed on businesses that fail to meet this requirement under Article 44 of Decree No. 122/2021/ND-CP. In addition, false information about a fine of up to VND 7 million for failure to change business registration certificate after its legal representative uses chip-based Citizen ID card is spreading on social media.
The municipal Department of Planning and Investment affirmed that it has yet to receive directions from competent authorities regarding these compulsory requirements related to business registration certificate. Therefore, the Department is urging local businesses not to believe false information from unofficial news sources in order to prevent them from being taken advantage of by scams.
