Police in Da Nang’s Lien Chieu District said on Monday that they are  investigating and handling more than 6,000 products, goods and cosmetics of foreign brands without invoices and origin.

At 6:00pm on March 9, police officers from the Economic Crime Investigation Team of the Lien Chieu District Police Division, and the Hoa Hiep Gate Traffic Police Station, stopped a truck with plate number 50H-141 at an intersection of a bypass to the south of the Hai Van Tunnel and Ta Quang Buu Street in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward to check. At that time, the truck was en route from south to north.

Through inspection, officers discovered 170 products with foreign brands (air purifiers, foot massage machines, motorcycle wheel bearings and home video game consoles); twenty 40kg carton boxes of cosmetic containing plastic bags containing liquid, yellow, unbranded solutions; and 5,880 red plastic jars used to store cosmetics without labels.

At the time of inspection, the driver of the truck could not produce invoices and documents proving the origin of the abovementioned products, so the competent force made a temporary seizure record for further verification in accordance with the law.
