Locals and visitors find it easier to access beautiful beaches

Mr. Ho Van Ty, a resident of Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, makes a habit of taking a walk along a beach and go swimming in the sea every morning.

Walking on a public footpath created at the Future Property Invest tourism area project in Hoa Hai Ward, Mr. Ty said previously, he had to go around to the Tan Tra beach, or near the end of Huyen Tran Cong Chua Street to access local beach.

“It's different now, with a spacious square, green trees, parking spots, a fully functional public park, and clean and modern public toilets, everyone is happy" he added.

Similarly, the elderly in residential group No.2 in Hoa Hai Ward often gather to the sea to cool off and chat in the afternoons.

Mr. Nguyen Van Su said everyone, especially the elderly who often bring small grandchildren, has felt secure when going to beaches since the city opened public walkways and lifeguards are on duty around the clock.

Among five footpaths to local beaches along Vo Nguyen Giap coastal route, the one created at the Future Property Invest tourism area project is compared to the ‘5-star’ walkway because it was created on an area of 10,397 m2 at a total cost of more than VND25.4 billion.

Meanwhile, the 12,236m2 footpath to beach between Furama and Ariyana projects is invested with an amusement park and an outdoor fitness park.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Vu, Head of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, said that public facilities at walkways to beaches have basically met the needs of residents and visitors.

Efforts to ensure long-term use

Currently, there are five footpaths to beaches, including a 6,680m2 footpath at the end of Ho Xuan Huong Street, a 12.236m2 area between the Furama Resort Danang and the Ariyana Danang Tourism Complex, a 1,911m2 area at the Silver Shores Hoang Dat international entertainment resort, a 2,716m2 area on the northern side of The Song resort project, and the other covering an area of 10,397m2 on the southern side of the Future Property Invest tourism area project.

Till date, the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches has received and put into operation three walkways at the end of Ho Xuan Huong Street, between the Furama Resort Danang and the Ariyana Danang Tourism Complex and on the southern side of the Future Property Invest tourism area project.

As reported by our reporter, a footpath to beaches at the end of Ho Xuan Huong Street, with a length from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to the sand of more than 360m, has been invested with technical infrastructure, green trees, electricity and water supply systems.

Also, there are 14 stone benches, 13 light posts, 33 uplights under trees, 4 foot-washing faucets, a sign to guide way to the beach, and a parking lot for motorbikes and bicycles.

The footpath between the Furama Resort Danang and the Ariyana Danang Tourism Complex, which is 340m long from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to the sandy beach, has been invested with technical infrastructure, green trees, and electricity and water supply systems. Also, there are 14 stone benches, 19 light posts, a board guiding the way to the beach, and a public toilet.

The one, measuring 507m in length and 20.5m in width, on the southern side of the Future Property Invest tourism area project features outdoor play equipment for kids, outdoor fitness equipment for adults, and other public utilities. Additionally, a 3m-wide parking bay is constructed.

Meanwhile, footpaths at the Silver Shores Hoang Dat international entertainment resort and The Song resort project opposite Minh Mang Street have yet to be handed over to the Management Board, while people keep going through these ways to beaches.

Because of no managers, these walkways are very sloppy, and some items have deteriorated, causing danger to people. Therefore, the local functional authorities should soon hand over the footpaths to the Management Board in order to avoid damage and danger to residents and visitors.
