Get-together for Da Nang compatriots in HCMC
The Association of Da Nang Compatriots in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) held a ceremony on Sunday to celebrate its 33rd birthday. Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, and municipal People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh made their attendance at the event.

On behalf of the city’s leader, Chairman Le Trung Chinh sent greetings to all Da Nang fellow countrymen studying, working and living in HCMC.
He highly praised the Association of Da Nang Compatriots in HCMC for its practical and meaningful activities in connecting and supporting those who were far away from home and living in HCMC over the past 33 years. In particular, the association has connected to introduce investment and business activities to individuals and organisations in both localities.
In July 2021, when HCMC became the country's epicentre of the COVID-19 pandemic, the association worked with relevant units to organise repatriation flights to bring Da Nang residents back to their hometown. At the same time, gifts were quickly sent from Da Nang to people stuck in HCMC during the pandemic.
According to Chairman Chinh, 2023 is forecast to still be a difficult year and the city identifies 2023 as 'The year focuses on unleashing resources, attracting investment, maintaining economic growth and ensuring social welfare'.
The city will continue accelerating disbursement of public investment capital, developing businesses, promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, vigorously boosting digital transformation in all industries and fields, and implementing synchronously and effectively the ‘5 No’s, 3 Yes’s’ and ‘City of 4 Safe’ programmes in a bid to ensure social security and welfare, create safe and happy environment for city people, he added.
Da Nang hopes to exceed its target of 2023 GRDP increasing by 6.5-7% compared to 2022. Therefore, Mr. Chinh asked for support and companion from units, businesses, individuals and organisations at home and abroad who are Da Nang natives, including the association, during the central coastal city’s progress.
At the meeting, Mr. Tran Hung Phong was elected as the President of the Association of Da Nang Compatriots in HCMC at the 4th session.
