Da Nang school sends donations to Turkey and Syria for earthquake relief efforts
Da Nang-located Ngu Hanh Son Senior High School has become the first school in Da Nang to respond to the municipal Red Cross Society’s appeals for giving donations to the people of Turkey and Syria damaged by the earthquake that happen in February.

It was reported that the staff, teachers and pupils of the school, on a voluntary basis, made cash donations in support for the people of the two countries in overcoming the consequences and returning to normal life.
The contribution not only shows the spirit of mutual love and affection, but also shows the friendship spirit and the relief from difficulties faced by the people in Turkey and Syria.
On March 23, the Da Nang Red Cross Society launched a new campaign calling for public donations to partly help the people of these two countries overcome the consequences of the earthquake.
In the coming time, the Da Nang Red Cross Society will continue to call on agencies, businesses, schools, organisations and individuals to make donations for the two Middle Eastern countries.
On February 6, a massive earthquake close to Turkey’s border with Syria caused major loss of life and leveled entire neighborhoods. As of 20 March 2023, more than 57,300 deaths were confirmed in the earthquake, more than 50,000 of which were reported in Turkey, and the remainder were in Syria. It is the deadliest worldwide since the 2010 Haiti earthquake and the fifth-deadliest of the 21st century.
