Following approval by the Da Nang Department of Transport, more than VND 25.6 billion from the Da Nang budget combined with the capital to support disaster recovery from the national government will be spent on reinforcing the embankment system along the Hoang Sa - Truong Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap coastal route. The project is being implemented in the 2023 - 2025 period.

The objective of the project is to prevent coastal erosion, protect the surface of Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa road and the current infrastructure and landscape.

Investment in additional reinforced embankment structures helps to complete the system of traffic infrastructure protection works on the Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa coastal road, prevent coastal erosion, ensure the safety of life and property of locals and visitors.

Upgrading and renovating the landscape and infrastructure aims to promote tourism values and public beach services, synchronise the technical infrastructure with the entire area and create a landscape for the beach area as well.

The project’s two embankment sections have a total length of about 380m on the Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa coastal road.

Technical solutions include the reinforcement of the front and back embankment with concrete structure and the supplement of trees.

It is known that the phenomenon of coastal erosion along the route Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts occurred during the stormy season of the years 2017, 2018, 2020, especially after heavy rains in October 2022. It was reported that natural disasters severely damaged the Vo Nguyen Giap roadbed.
