Founded in 1979 with support given by the Thai Royal family, the annual ASEAN Literary Award recognises and honours the various works of contemporary poets and writers throughout Southeast Asian countries.
72-year-old writer Vinh Quyen was born in Hue City but now is living in Da Nang. He is the author of ‘Debris of Debris’ (2009), a novel about post-war Viet Nam. The Vietnamese version of the novel won the second prize of the 2011-2015 novel contest organised by the Viet Nam Writers’ Association.
