Accelerating construction progress

The Tuyen Son - Tuy Loan riverside route was officially inaugurated in Da Nang on April 28 to mark the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30).

Recently, the second stage of the project on upgrading a section of Ngo Quyen - Ngu Hanh Son route between its intersections with Vo Van Kiet to Ho Xuan Huong streets has been already completed and put into use 40 days ahead of schedule.

These are two among the city’s key traffic projects which their construction progress is being expedited for completion in 2023.

Despite weekends, groups of construction workers still gathered in large numbers on the construction site of the 2nd stage of the western ring road project from National Highway 14B to Ho Chi Minh Road to speed up the progress of the remaining items, trying to open the main route to traffic by late 2023 as requested by the municipal government and the investor - the Management Board of Traffic Work Construction Investment Projects.

Similarly, the north-west traffic axis No 1 project in Da Nang's Lien Chieu District is underway after a long period of stagnation due to site clearance problems.

The 'Upgrading and renovating DT 601 road' project, with a length of about 35.6km, which is a lifeline traffic project connecting 3 communes of Hoa Son, Hoa Lien and Hoa Bac in Hoa Vang District, is in the final stage.

Till date, 33.78 out of the 35.68km of road surface have been already completed to ensure smooth traffic.

In order to strive for completion of the project by the end of 2023, the Management Board recommends that the People's Committee of Hoa Vang District and the Site Clearing Board of the district continue to prioritise site clearance on the ongoing section for seamless construction of asphalt concrete mats.

New traffic projects carried out

Aside from the abovementioned traffic projects, the city will continue to deploy new projects in the coming time.

Specifically, work on the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway, as part of the La Son - Tuy Loan section of the Ho Chi Minh Road, is set to start in the third quarter of 2023, or no later than the fourth quarter of 2023.

As part of the The Ho Chi Minh Road project, the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan section has a total length of about 11.5 km.

The expected starting point is at a location adjacent to the Hoa Lien intersection in the namesake commune and the ending point is adjacent to the Tuy Loan intersection in Hoa Nhon Commune, Hoa Vang District.

The main part of the project is built according to highway standards, with a design speed of 80 km/h, with a 4-lane divergent scale, a 22m-wide roadbed of 22m.

Preliminary total project investment is about VND 2,100 billion funded by the State budget.

Meanwhile, the municipal Department of Transport is coordinating with ministries and sectors to complete the last parts to promptly start the project on upgrading National Highway 14B, the section through Da Nang, with a total length of about 7.55km.

Besides, the coastal route connecting to the soon-to-be-constructed Lien Chieu Port is expected to get off the ground on September 8, 2023.
