On Saturday morning, the Da Nang Youth Union coordinated with the municipal Department of Natural Resources and the Environment, along with the GreenViet Biodiversity Conservation Center to organise the ‘Da Nang youth live green - small actions, big changes in 2023’ festival

The event aimed to raise awareness of building up a green lifestyle and protecting the living environment among local residents, especially Youth Union members and children.

At the festival, all-leveled chapters of the Da Nang Youth Union established 64 youth squads to respond to natural disasters, storms and floods in the city.

In addition, Youth Union members and youths participate in interesting and useful activities such as ‘Youth musical talent’ contest, teambuilding themed ‘Green generation - Green message’, a contest to learn knowledge about environmental protection, responding to climate change and learning how to sort waste, a video clip design competition themed ‘Green generation - green action’, training on how to manage and sort household-discharged solid waste at the source.

Speaking at the festival, Mr. Le Cong Hung, the Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of Viet Nam Student Association, emphasised that in the spirit of promoting the proactive and volunteer role of youth, in recent times, the Da Nang Youth Union has implemented many diversified and practical environmental protection activities.

The festival helped to promote the formation and replication of environmentally friendly lifestyles for people from all walks of life and contribute to the effective implementation of the ongoing ‘Building Da Nang into an environmentally-friendly city’ project for the 2021-2030 period, with the goals of reducing environmental pollution and spurring up green growth, creating a useful playground, improving life skills, physical and mental health for Youth Union members, and young people in the city as a whole.
